Privacy Notice & POPIA

Version 2026-08 · Effective 28 August 2026

This notice explains how LAWLiS processes personal information when Riders, Partners and other users use the marketplace. LAWLiS aims to process personal information lawfully, reasonably and only for legitimate marketplace purposes.

1. Information we process

Depending on how you use LAWLiS, information may include account and contact details, delivery addresses, motorcycle and fitment information, orders, returns, support communications, reviews, Partner business and verification information, banking-verification records, shipping and tracking information, and security or audit records.

2. Why we process it

We use information to create and secure accounts; operate checkout, orders, delivery, returns and refunds; verify and administer Partners; provide customer support; maintain marketplace records; prevent abuse; meet legal and accounting duties; improve marketplace operation; and send optional communications where permitted.

3. Sharing

LAWLiS may disclose information where necessary to the Partner fulfilling an order, service providers that support hosting, authentication, monitoring, communications or payment processing, professional advisers, regulators or authorities where legally required. Partners should receive only information reasonably necessary to fulfil their marketplace responsibilities.

4. Security and retention

LAWLiS uses technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to the information processed. Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant purpose, legal obligations, disputes, fraud prevention and legitimate record keeping. Some evidence follows specific deletion schedules once its operational purpose ends.

5. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask about personal information held about you, request access or correction, object to certain processing, request deletion where LAWLiS has no lawful reason to retain the information, or withdraw optional marketing preferences. Some transactional, financial, fraud-prevention or legal records cannot be deleted immediately.

6. Cookies and similar technology

LAWLiS may use technology necessary for authentication, security, session continuity and core marketplace functionality. Optional analytics or advertising technologies, if introduced, should be disclosed and managed separately where consent is required.

7. Cross-border and service providers

Technology providers may process information using infrastructure outside South Africa. LAWLiS will take reasonable steps required by applicable law when personal information is transferred or processed across borders.

8. Contact and complaints

Privacy or data-rights requests may be submitted through LAWLiS support. LAWLiS will publish its formal Information Officer and regulatory contact details before public launch. You may also have the right to complain to South Africa's Information Regulator.

Pre-launch legal draft: This notice is designed for the LAWLiS marketplace implementation and must receive final South African legal/POPIA review before public launch.
